Freycinet Swansea Bicheno Loop

Flying Time: Approximately 1 hour

Price: $230.00 per person (2 or 3 passengers) or $440.00 for a single passenger

As we climb out over Friendly Beaches we begin the flight following the same route as our regular scenic flights. You will immediately be astonished by the beautiful view, the white sands and turquoise water. A gentle turn to the south and we are heading directly for the Freycinet Peninsula. We will pass several lagoons and Tourville Lighthouse before the amazing Hazards and Wineglass Bay come into full view. Continuing south along the peninsula you will be amazed by the rugged coastline. At the southern tip of the peninsula we will fly around Schouten Island with its historic whaling station. Heading north we will follow the protected west side of the peninsula where you will view numerous beaches which are only accessible by boat or by several days of hiking. We will pass Wineglass Bay once again but from the opposite side which reveals its wineglass shape. You will notice the townships of Coles Bay and Swanwick and the river mouth of the Swan River. We will then follow Nine Mile Beach around to Swansea. Cutting inland we then set a heading towards Bicheno with views of the vast Moulting Lagoon on our right and to our left Tasmanian mountains. We will meet the coast again, just north of Bicheno at Diamond Island. Turning south we follow the coast and you will see the numerous fishing boats bobbing like toys in Waulbs Bay and in The Gaulch. As we descent we will follow the coast south towards the Airfield where you will get a chance to appreciate the beautiful white sand beaches before landing at the Friendly Beaches Airstrip.
